I want to have a ranger. I really do. I like them. I like animals.

I've been thinking of a N/R. I saw someone that had those classes, and he/she
were real good. Anyone tried it?

What other Rangercombinations are good? Tell me.

You cant go wrong with any class combo in this game. My favorite is Warrior/Elementalist...I think that is about the most odd 'seeming' combo, and it works great.

If you like Rangers, then be a Ranger primary. If you want to get down to it though, you have to weight out the primary attributes of the classes your looking at. Rangers use less mana to cast spells and can reduce their prep times, necros get mana when crap dies...which is more valuble to you? Also, you can only use runes from your primary class, how will that affect your character.

Well you have left yourself with R/W or R/ele. From what I have seen of R/W builds they use melee weapons and rangers expertise to reduce attack costs. R/Ele's use spells like conjure flame to add damage to thier attacks.

How i understand it, Ranger as a secondary prof isnt that good.

Anyhoo, i want a ranger thats good in PvP. What is good then? R/Mo? Doh, im tired of monks...

I somewhat disagree with that statement. You can be a Ele/R. Using Ele as main damage dealer. And then using Ranger's Nature Rituals to boost yourself, possible enemy as well depends upon your positioning of spirits.

And when you say good in PVP, in what sense? Do you want to be damage dealer, or perhaps stop enemy from doing what they do best. Rangers are good at interupting and so is mesmer.

All I can say is, don't take ranger secondary for the pet unless you're building your character around it. To make a pet really worth using, you need to devote half (or more) of your skills to it. Oh, and it'll become 100% useless around the end of the PvE game. Wilderness survival is, imo, generally the most useful ranger attrib as secondary. With marksmanship, it'll be tough to achieve the sustained DPS of an expertise ranger.

All my best PvP ranger builds don't use their secondary at all, so I can't help you there. Remember that warrior is the one that benefits most from expertise, and they still have some stances and shouts that can help you even if you don't pick up a melee weapon. You can make any combination work, really.

So maby R/W? I think ill try that.

I want a pet. But, when you are R/W, it isnt that good with a pet, right? I mean unless you dont pick much stats on beast mastery. I know that in the beginning of the game pets are pretty useful. And i think they are pretty useful in PvP too.

Anyhoo, if i pick R/W, what should i put my stats on? It would be helpful if someone could write down here the different "types" of R/W, and what stats i should pick. Like if i want to bee meele or whatevah.

Could someone do that?
